Recently the flue forced me to stay at my home during a week. It has been a great excuse to carry on this project. I want to show you one of these new negatives. As always I'll be waiting for your comments and replies :3

Today I'll explain some tricks which I use on cyanotype. Normally I found the main resources at my home. Enjoy!

Q: The emulsion is a mix between 50% from A solution and 50% from B solution. How do you get it exactly?

A: I use small syringes, marked with 'A' and 'B' letters. I get more precision and cleaning in this way.

Q: Before you apply the emulsion on the paper, how do you know exactly the negative size and borders?

A: I mark the corners with a pencil with a helping lightbox.

Q: How do you fix the negative on the paper to the UV exposure time:

A: I put the emulsionated paper on a photoframe. I cover it with the glass and then cliped the borders. Is very useful!

Q: Rough papers are beautiful for cyanotype so the texture causes lower contrast and resolution. How do you resolve it?

A: I really love Arches 300 gr. paper so the surface is very porous. I dissolve gelatine into water (45º) and I put the papers under it. Another adventage is you need less exposition time.

New negatives on road! ^___^

A preview exposed on watercolor paper during 15"

Nice negative print but the cyanotype needs more contrast specially in white tones. Next time less vinegar in the first bath.

Step by step:

1. I print my drawing in negative on a transparent support and then I expose it under UV light.
   
2. This is the look of the image on the paper. What do you think?
   
3. Next I clean the paper under water, with a little splash of vinegar and peroxide. First one intensificates the middle tones, second one produces a higher contrast and a very nice blue colour.
   
4. At least let it dry and then I apply aniline to paint the red sun. And finished it! :D
